and after that, if people stay around here for whatever the reason, then let that reason be. don't change too much. will the forum survive without members? is the site's purpose is to keep sponsors and kids happy or snowboarding member happy?
please understand that we are all capable of using pm function to address a poster if one is truly offended. let us police ourselves and each other first before admin's action.

Fuggin newbs scratchin up my top sheeters need to be castr8ed.
See... I like profanity. I hate prudes. I enjoy pissing prudes off. It's fun to watch the squirm because their discomfort is their own closed-minded fault to begin with. At the same time, I liked that one south park episode where overuse of profanity caused an ancient evil curse to be awakened and some dragon with a lame voice attacks America or something. The moral of the story being: profanity is cool because it makes prudes squirm. If we use it too much, it will lose it's power.

Let's do this - let's take a poll on the filters, and just like the 10 posts before you can sell stuff policy, I'll go the democratic route with majority rules.
Sound fair?

Funny thing is I regularly backspace over my fucks and shits and whatnots, cause I don't want too seem like too much of a ruffian.
I agree we should keep it in check, but I am sure y'all know which way I voted.

Wow. Very even-handed. Seriously!
I wasn't even going to come back here, but boredom and curiosity won the day. Thank jeebus for democracy! Looks like a few people really threw up their hands though. Hope they don't ditch the site for good.
I think if you compare this site to splitboard.com, TAY, or any of those places where anything remotely offensive is cause for ETERNAL BANMATION you will find we have something they don't have - community. And if you take a look around you, you'll see a bunch of, well, adults. Adults who like to do adult things. Like, swear, for one.
The reaction to that (lamer) that showed up trying to pitch his gear without the requisite 10 posts was predictable, and entertaining, but hardly 'nice'. It was like watching some idiot ride a bike into a barbwire fence. Funny, but slightly painful to watch.
Personally, I find a derogatory comment, sans profanity, FAR worse than the dreaded 'f-er you such a retard don't u know anything you #%$^$' - which actually never happens here. However, if it did, I'd dismiss it out of hand as the rantings of a child who doesn't know enough to put his Swear Words into a Proper Sentence.
