Hi,
So I'm kinda new to snowboarding and my husband got me a pair of Batmitts for this season. I had never heard of them before but he seems to think they're great. Apparently, he had some back back in the 90's, but then you couldn't get them anymore. Well, he's all excited b/c you can get the mitts again. Has anyone heard of them...are they good?? I'll upload a pic from the website.

I would be interested to hear more about these too, as I've heard many people swear by them. If they're as good as I've heard, it'll be interesting to see if the quality is still there, let alone how the company is suddenly back now.

DB swears by his, their liek 8 yrs old or some shit, if they do work well it has to be in the design aka minimal seams and stitching aka let teh gortex or whatever do their thing.

snowboard gloves are maybe the only thing in snowboarding that should have anything to do with fashion. damn, i love to type.

Cool...sounds like I might have warm hands this winter. Your friends mitts are 8 years old?? Wow.. I didn't think anything lasted that long.
From the posts it sounds like there may be an interesting history about the mitts & the company. Does anyone know anything else??

Holy hell, you're freaking kidding me! I love BATWAVES. I rocked them all through the 90's. I got a box of them somewhere in 1992-94 when I was on the Western Washington U. Snowboard Team. I ran out my last pair around 2002 or something when I lost the matching glove to this Lobster Claw:

This glove has been hanging in my garage ever since because I never gave up hope that one day I would find the matching one. I just checked the site, anyone know if they are making Lobster Claws? Oh man, so stoked. Seriously, best gloves ever!

Had some pleasant email exchanges with Josh (owner). Looks like trigger finger, aka the "Lobster Claw" as I like to call them, won't be available for some time, sounds like two years at least. Bummer, patience is a virtue, much like waiting for that first big dump.

I ordered up a set of piss yellow mitts, plan on doing some serious knuckledragging at Bachelor in December with them. A little high speed Bachelor corduroy outta put these gloves to the test, see if they are still rocking the original formula. I'll be sure to post of a review.

Matt Goodwill! Hero of mine. I remember seeing him slay the Hogsback chair-line at Stevens, doing backflips off one of the tree-danger hits on the regular. Also seen (rumored, at least) doing the same off a gnarly lift's-right rock/cliff-drop on Tye Mill. Unbelievable, and that air was just two years ago.. He's still out there! 7th Heaven lift chute straight-line in the mid-90s. I could go on. I hope to see him out there agian one of these dsys. Crazy skills.
p.s.
and I'm sure the mittens helped bigeyes.gif
